Ava Iskhakov serves as Secretary of the Nassau County Young Democrats, where she plays a key role in civic engagement initiatives and strengthening youth involvement in the democratic process. As the youngest Executive Board member in the organization’s history, Ava has distinguished herself through her leadership, initiative, and commitment to expanding opportunities for young people in politics and public service.

Outside of her role within the organization, Ava is the Founder of the Law and Leadership Initiative, which she created after recognizing a gap in accessible civic and leadership opportunities for students interested in government, law, and public policy. Through her work, she empowers young people to take initiative, develop confidence, and become active changemakers within their communities.

A passionate advocate for youth leadership and civic participation, Ava is also preparing to deliver a TED-Ed talk centered on the importance of taking action and encouraging young people to step into leadership roles regardless of age or experience.
